The First of Many…

My anxiety is like an avalanche, and this is what I did about it!
May 30, 2022Yup – I sure am. Here I promise to put out a regular blog post and I’m blocked. I have at least 15 (or maybe 500) options of what I can write about but nope – it’s just not happening. Does this feel familiar? Maybe you haven’t publicly declared you were putting yourself out there and feel like you can’t deliver, but I’m sure you can find something that feels similar.
I’m here to tell you that we are all human, we all have stuff going on and sometimes it leaves us blocked, stuck, and feeling icky. So now what? What do I do to unblock myself?
Write About It
Well, I’m writing about it! Sometimes it is enough to recognize that something is happening to help it resolve. I write in my journal regularly and that gives my mind a chance to dump what it needs to get rid of and it also allows me to ponder the possibilities of something different.
Get Moving
Yup – it might be as simple as a walk, short yoga practice, or a workout at the gym. Pent-up energy in your physical body can block you – so get moving. You don’t need to run around the block, but if that is what your body wants to do to shake off the energy – go for it. Another idea is to play music and dance. Dance like no one is watching, literally. Jump and twirl and let it all move, allowing your inner child to lead the way.
Nature
My go-to is the beach. I love sitting with my feet in the sand or in the water and feeling the sun on my skin (with sunscreen). Not only do I relax but my intention is to just let go and surrender.
Clear the Energy
Sometimes you just need to Sage. The sacred act of energy clearing is a great reset. It’s a reminder to let go of what no longer serves our best and highest good, and it also clears our aura and environment of the same.
Vent
Talk about it! Talk to a friend who is open to listen as you describe what’s going on. I have a few friends that not only listen but then tell me afterward, “That would be a great blog post, go write about that!” And so I did.
Shift Perspective
Change topics or environment for a little while. Allow yourself breathing space so you can balance. This doesn’t mean you ignore what you need to do, but you set it aside until you can move forward or even move sideways with it. Sometimes any movement is better than no movement.
Whew, thanks for being here! I can feel the flow now. It’s taken me all day to write this since I’ve been multitasking (which I don’t recommend) but that is the life of a small business owner.
