This month in our Resilience in Real Life newsletter September 2025 Edition we are addressing Sacred Self-Awareness and Meeting yourself with Compassion. We are addressing this because in order for us to be able to view others with compassion, we need to learn to give it to ourselves. I know it’s hard, it’s something that I work on every single day.
🛡️ September Theme: Sacred Self-Awareness.
For sensitives and empaths, awareness is both a gift and a challenge. We notice subtleties, pick up on emotions others miss, and often sense more than we can explain. But turning that same awareness inward can feel tender—like shining a light into the corners we’d rather keep hidden.
✨ Mini Teaching: Shadow & Self-Acceptance
Shadow work isn’t about “fixing” what’s wrong with you—it’s about bringing gentle curiosity to the parts of yourself you’ve tucked away. The inner critic, the hidden fears, the emotions you’ve labeled as “too much.” When you acknowledge them, they lose their grip and often reveal hidden wisdom.
🌿 Mini Practice: Pause, Observe, Journal
This week, try this three-step reflection:
- Pause – Take three slow breaths when you feel a strong reaction (joy, anger, sadness).
- Observe – Notice what’s happening in your body and thoughts without judgment.
- Journal – Write one or two sentences about what came up. Don’t censor—just witness.
This simple act builds awareness while honoring your sensitivity as sacred, not something to fix.
